Overview: Crisis Text Line is free, 24/7 support for those in crisis. Text 741741 from anywhere in the US to text with a trained Crisis Counselor. Crisis Text Line trains volunteers to support people in crisis. With over 150 million messages processed to date, we’re growing quickly, but so is the need. Overview: Crisis Text Line believes in meeting people in crisis where they are. This position will spearhead our philanthropic strategy and support in generating relationships with major donors and foundations as well as individuals who care about mental health. These efforts will help generate the revenue needed to fund our work. We are looking for someone who is a proven fundraiser, kind, goal oriented, and skilled at relationship management. Key roles and responsibilities:

Own the philanthropic revenue stream aiming to drive $5.5m in philanthropic giving in 2021, $8m in 2022 and $11m in 2023. Major giving:

Create a development strategy oriented around Crisis Text Line’s mission, vision and values. Liaise with the design team to develop pitch assets and key development tools. Own the refinement and development of Crisis Text Line’s philanthropy pipeline. Identify and pursue key opportunities from research to pitching to grant. Identify and connect with high net worth investors who are passionate about mental health and help them fall in love with our work. Organize and execute grant reporting across milestones to convey the impact we’ve made together. Work alongside finance to track and report on grant spend. Assist in growth capital efforts as needed.

E-commerce:

Optimize our online giving experience by building out a meaningful donor journey. Generate deeper connection and incremental revenue with an online giving acknowledgment and retention strategy.

Strategic relationship management:

Develop ongoing donor engagement strategy including EOY touchpoints, stakeholder call and reporting. Manage ongoing relationships with key donors and bring our work and organization to life for them. Share organizational wins, compelling texter feedback, stakeholder reports and more to keep our cause close to their hearts. Identify ways to leverage our data insights to illustrate donor impact. Help do what it takes throughout the year so that we’re positioned to renew gifts when the time comes. Assist in implementing our new CRM to support our efforts with a clear and organized infrastructure.

Who you are:

7+ years of experience driving philanthropic development. Keen understanding of the mental health philanthropy landscape and have connections with people and foundations in philanthropy who are passionate about this cause. Fiercely results oriented with a love for meaningful connection Strong prioritization and communication skills
